The Colorado Division of Insurance (DOI) has joined other industry leaders in Colorado to create a Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies (LAAIA) chapter in Colorado.

The Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies (LAAIA) is a professional association that was established in 1969 with the aim of being a "Voice of Independent Insurance Agents." As a not-for-profit organization, LAAIA works towards creating a healthy insurance environment by offering a range of services to its members.

One of the key services that LAAIA provides to its members is continuing education. Throughout the year, each chapter offers ongoing continuing education classes that ensure its members stay up to date with the latest industry trends, best practices and regulations. We strive to assist our members in offering better services to their clients, and learning ways to stay competitive in the market.

LAAIA also engages in legislative advocacy, representing the interests of its members on national advisory councils. By working with policymakers, LAAIA seeks to promote policies that support the insurance industry’s growth while ensuring consumer protection.

Networking is another important service that LAAIA offers. The association hosts monthly networking events where members can meet, exchange ideas, and build relationships with other professionals in the industry. This allows for the sharing of knowledge, resources and opportunities.

Community outreach is also a key aspect of LAAIA's work. By collaborating with other organizations and community groups, LAAIA seeks to promote financial literacy and provide resources to underserved communities. This helps increase access to insurance products and services and promotes financial stability.

Finally, LAAIA offers mentorship to its members. This program aims to assist professionals in the industry learn from experienced veterans and develop their skills and knowledge.
