The Colorado Division of Insurance (DOI) has joined other industry leaders in Colorado to create a National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) chapter in Colorado.
NAAIA was founded in 1997 and is dedicated to empowering African American insurance professionals and celebrating their accomplishments. The organization was created to form a network among people of color and others employed in or affiliated with the insurance industry. NAAIA is committed to attracting talented individuals to the insurance industry and provides opportunities for networking, continuing education and for building mutually beneficial connections and partnerships.
In order to get the Colorado chapter of NAAIA up and running, we are looking for individuals who would be interested in serving on the serving on the board of directors and/or being a member of NAAIA.
Who can join NAAIA?
The organization is distinguished and distinctive in its position as the only organization that engages, encourages, and supports all insurance career professionals. NAAIA is not exclusive to any one industry segment. Individuals do not have to be African American to join NAAIA or serve on the CO chapter board. Individuals do not have to be associated with any other insurance association or organization to join.
Can I join NAAIA now, before the CO chapter is fully established?
Yes, you can join NAAIA at the national level as a general member today. Once the CO chapter is up and running, your membership will be directly associated with the CO chapter. Join today.
How do I get involved with the Colorado chapter?
The Colorado chapter will need members to serve on the board of directors once established. Become a candidate for a board position.
The Colorado chapter will need members to help the organization in Colorado grow and foster the NAAIA mission. Let the NAAIA know you are interested in joining and we will keep you in the loop.
Are membership dues required to join NAAIA?
Yes, all NAAIA members are required to pay $150 in annual dues. Board members of the local CO chapter must contribute $500 to NAAIA annually. This can be an in-kind contribution, for example, the sponsoring of an event.
