We at the Colorado Division of Insurance understand that many of you, whether you live in a stand-alone house, condo, or townhome are grappling with the burden of high homeowners insurance costs, or finding it challenging to secure suitable coverage. In response to your concerns and the recently enacted House Bill (HB) 23-1174, Homeowners Insurance and Underinsurance, we're launching a study to delve into the factors affecting these costs and to make potential policy recommendations.

We believe the heart of the solution lies with you who understand the unique challenges of our community. As such, we're inviting you to participate in a series of stakeholder meetings virtually, via Zoom. To attend, please register below:

Topic: Potential Solutions to Affordability Challenges: Hardening, Mitigation, and Financial Aid

We want to hear about the challenges that you’re facing with the affordability of homeowners insurance premiums for single and multi-family homes, and we are excited to work together to find solutions. A key component to finding those solutions will necessarily be identifying the causes of homeowners insurance affordability issues in Colorado.  We’re also looking for ideas on ways to address these issues. That will be part of the work that we do through these stakeholder meetings as well.

Your experiences, insights, and suggestions are vital to this mission. They will enrich our understanding and help guide policy recommendations to better serve the diverse needs of Colorado homeowners.

We care about your input and your time, so we’ve included an optional survey to ensure we can address your concerns effectively during our meeting. To participate in the optional survey, please click below:
