The Colorado Division of Insurance has clarified with the Boulder County Recovery and Resiliency Division that the removal of fire destroyed/damaged vehicles from private property will not jeopardize participation in the debris removal program coordinated by Boulder County and the State of Colorado.
This updates guidance that was shared regarding the vehicle removal process in the Sunday, January 9th town hall meeting hosted by Boulder County leaders and legislators.
This means that people with cars that were destroyed or damaged by the fires should start filing claims now with their auto insurance companies to get these cars removed, and should not wait for the debris removal program to do so.
Boulder County will be sharing more detailed information about the debris removal program.
