The Division of Insurance and Division of Professions and Occupations will host a webinar with information regarding implementation of the No Surprises Act and House Bill (HB) 22-1284, Health Insurance Surprise Billing Protections on January 26, 2023, from 11:00am - 12:00pm MT.
The No Surprises Act and HB22-1284 protect Colorado consumers in state-regulated and self-insured plans from balanced billing and out-of-network cost-sharing for emergency services provided by an out-of-network health professional or facility; air ambulance services; private ground ambulance services (state-regulated plans only), and non-emergency services provided by out-of-network health professionals at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center.
The webinar will provide an overview of federal and state requirements under the No Surprises Act and HB22-1284, and clarify providers, carriers, and patient responsibilities.
