As part of legislation passed earlier this year by the Colorado Legislature (SB22-206 - Disaster Preparedness And Recovery Resources), the Colorado Division of Insurance (DOI) was tasked with conducting studies concerning homeowners’ insurance. These studies are to be focused on the availability of homeowners’ insurance, the stability of the market, and the particular issue of underinsurance.
As the DOI undertakes these studies, we also want to hear from stakeholders regarding the study topics. So the Division is holding a virtual stakeholder meeting on Friday, Oct. 21, 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. MT.
The DOI is looking forward to hearing from consumers who have been impacted by various issues with homeowners’ insurance, and not just Marshall survivors. As wildfires have become a regular occurrence in past years, we welcome input from anyone who has run into insurance problems in any wildfires. The Division also would like to hear from community and consumer advocacy groups and insurance professionals on these topics.
